One such activity is White Water River rafting, which is an outdoor thrilling activity that uses an inflatable raft to navigate a river or other body of water. It is a perfect adventure water sport that is fun and keeps you alert at all times.
Rafting Location
You will be rafting on the beautiful Mhadei River in Valpoi North Goa. Valpoi is a village in the Sattari Taluka, surrounded by nature. The meeting point will be Earthen Pot Restaurant, Sayed Nagar, Valpoi, Sattari – Goa. From the meeting point you will be taken to the river in minivans, the total drive time is 25 minutes. From here you will set out on a 10 minute walk to the starting point of the activity near the river.
The river is calling – Are you ready?
Once you reach the river you will meet your rafting instructor who will brief you about this activity. You will be given your safety equipment which will be double checked to make sure all is fitted well. As you board the raft you will begin to feel the excitement to try out this activity. You will be given a set of oars with which you will need to navigate these waters.
As you set off you’ll have your heart racing as you will be left at the mercy of the river which may not be gentle on you. You will be guided how to row using your oars that will help you channelize your route. The speed with which the water flows causes turbulence also known as rapids. You will navigate rapids that range from class 2 to class 3, class 2 rapids may have a bit of rough water and rocks, class 3 have more rough waters and are tougher to manoeuvre but will not be life threatening for sure. Feel the splash, the screams, pressure on your arms while you have an adventurous ride down these waters.
The monsoons are simply perfect for this activity. The river swells and has a good flow which allows you to enjoy every bit of the rafting. The entire duration of rafting is 3 hours and you’ll travel for a stretch of 10 kilometres.

There are two slots for river rafting, 09:30 AM – 12:30 PM & 02:30 PM – 05:30 PM.
Important points
• Make sure you wear light clothes as you will surely get wet in this activity.
• It is advisable to carry a change of clothes so that you can change into dry clothes after the trip.
• There are changing rooms available near the meeting point so changing will not be a hassle.
• Please wear appropriate footwear that has good grip. Avoid flip-flops. You can wear rubber shoes or floaters.
• Do not consume alcohol before the trip
• Please carry your ID proof along.
