Tour North Goa in a Private AC Car
If you have the desire to go sightseeing and you want to avoid being around people at the same time then you can Tour North Goa in a Private Car and explore all the places of interest across Bardez.
The Tour Agenda
Your tour will begin with a pick up from your hotel at 9:00 am when you will proceed to Fort Aguada on Sinquerim Hill. Fort Aguada was built in 1612 and got its name from the freshwater spring there. “Aguada” in Portuguese means “watering place” while agua means “water”. The ships used to stop here to refill their water supply. The Portuguese built this fort to protect Goa from the Maratha and Dutch invaders. The lighthouse was built later in 1864 and the light of the beacon could be seen in seven-minute intervals and guided the ships to safety. The old lighthouse was abandoned in 1976 when the new one was inaugurated. The view from Fort Aguada is spectacular. You can see the expanse of the Arabian Sea and if you look south you will be able to see the cape where the Governor’s palace is located.
Your next stop is Sinquerim Beach, famous for its water sports and dolphin sighting trips. The Fort Aguada begins at this beach and stretches all the way to the top of the hill. You can explore part of the fort here too. You can go on a dolphin sighting tour while you’re here. The cost per person is 300/- INR for an hour. This cost is not covered in the tour charge and the trip is optional. There’s not much to see on this beach apart from the water sports. However, the dolphin trip can be fun especially if the tide is coming in because the chances of sighting dolphins during this time is relatively higher. Two species of dolphins can be found in Goan waters, namely the Indo-Pacific Humpback dolphin and the Finless dolphin. The chances of spotting a Finless dolphin are quite slim because this particular species is shy and don’t surface as much as the others.
The next beach on your route is Candolim Beach. It is one of the longest beaches of the North belt stretch of beaches and connects to Calangute Beach. Believe it or not, this beach is not nearly as crowded as Calangute and Baga Beaches are even though it is equally popular.
No vacation in Goa is complete without at least one trip to Calangute Beach, perhaps the most popular Goan Beach. This beach is crowded right through the peak season (October to May) and it gets a little more thronged during the Christmas week.
Baga Beach is the next inline and touches Calagute beach and is equally packed during season time. Also famous for waters ports, this beach was named after Baga Creek which runs into the Arabian Sea. These four beaches collectively are what the locals have labeled as “The belt”.
Moving further up North, you will head to Anjuna Beach, famous for its trance parties, the hippies, and the Flea Market that was started in the early 1970s. This famous beach was discovered by the hippies in the 1960s. The first trance party was held in 1975-1976. The Anjuna Flea Market, initially started by the hippies is still being organized till date every Wednesdays.
Vagator Beach, the northernmost beach in Bardez, and the last beach on this tour. This beach is split into two by a seaside headland. The beach on the left is known as “Ozram” or “Little Vagator” and the beach on the right is known as Vagator Beach or “Big Vagator”. Chapora River runs through Vagator and meets the Arabian Sea in the west.
What’s Included and Excluded:
You will be picked up in Private AC Car. If your hotel is not easily accessible by car then you will have to come to the nearest point the car can reach. We have pickups from a few areas in North Goa such as Calangute, Baga, Candolim, Sinquerim, Arpora, Nerul, Nagoa and Candolim. Please call and inquire about rates to other location like Vagator, Anjuna, Siolim, Arambol, Ashwem, Morjim, Mandrem, Mapusa, Porvorim, and Panjim because the rates will differ as per the distance of the areas.
You will stop for lunch at a restaurant of your choice or one of our recommendations, it is entirely up to you where you would like to have your meal. The total cost of this trip is 2600/- INR and the cost doesn’t cover anything apart from the car and the tour. If you wish to try out any of the water sports then you will have to pay them on the spot. If you wish to stop for breakfast, kindly inform our driver and let him know where to take you. We suggest you have your breakfast before the tour begins because the longer you delay the hotter it will get. We prefer to start early to give you ample time to check out all the places on the itinerary.
What to wear and to carry:
Be prepared for hot weather. Even during our so-called winters the temperatures soar to 34 degrees Celsius and along with the humidity it can be quite uncomfortable. Wear light cotton clothes, preferably in whites or pastels. Wearing shorts is permissible and definitely a good option to beat the heat. Avoid dark clothes. Please carry your sunhat, cap, sunscreen, sunglasses, camera, and lots of water. If you wish, you can carry some light snacks for the way. Please stay hydrated through the day. The more water you drink the less chances of you feeling ill.
Kindly note that if you wish to continue sightseeing beyond 6:30 pm you will be charged an extra fee.
This is an ideal tour for a family especially if you have small children or for a couple. You can move at your own pace because you have the entire day to discover the great Goan Beaches. Please book your Tour of North Goa in a Private Car in advance to avoid disappointment and to get the date of your choice.
