One of the most beautiful and picturesque islands in Goa is the Grand Island. Located off the coast of Vasco da Gama this island is a popular tourist destination and a must see among all the islands of Goa. A trip to Goa without going to these islands will be an incomplete one; hence this happens to be a very popular trip when in Goa.
Setting off on the trip:
Once you are picked up from your hotel or designated location, you will set foot on Coco beach from where the journey to the island begins. Your ride for the day will be a 24 seater boat with a covered top to protect you from the sun. As you begin sailing you will experience the magical feeling of the waters with breeze though your hair and stress levels diminishing.
The blue waters and skies complement each other and feel like heaven on earth. You’ll get a glimpse of Aguada Fort, Light House, The central jail, Millionaires Palace, Raj Bhavan, Marmagoa Harbour etc to name a few . Don’t forget to keep an eye on Dolphins in the water as you get an opportunity to see them in their natural habitat. You will be served light snacks and fruits and unlimited soft drinks and water. Beers are included in this trip as well.
Unfolding the adventure:
As you are about to reach the Grand Island, the boat will halt to give you a thrill of a lifetime. The boat crew will assist you with water activities that are challenging yet fun. For those that love fishing, pick up those lines for bottom fishing and cast them into the sea giving it your best to pull out a catch. Put on your snorkelling gear consisting of a snorkel, face mask and navigate the surface of the sea for a chance to see life below its surface.

Time on the island:
Once everyone is done with all their activities, the boat heads to Monkey beach on the Grand Island. Goan style Buffet lunch with Veg and Non Veg options and BBQ (Chicken / Fish / Veg) is served for all. You can then spend a little time exploring the beach and the island. The Monkey Beach once had an influx of monkeys and that is how it gets its name. This beach is backed by lush hills and is uninhabited. Make sure to get a lot of photos at this location.
Must do’s:
Make sure to carry sunglasses, sunscreen lotion. Wear cool light clothing to beat the heat like shorts and tee shirts and your swimwear. Remember that there are no changing rooms on the boat or the island, so carry bedsheets and towels to arrange for a make shift area to change.
Rates: This trip will cost you Rs 1350/- per head. Child of age 5 years and above will be charged full rate. This trip is not recommended for children below 5 years.
Time: The usual time is from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. although timings may vary.

Can I bring my camera along?
Yes. You can get excellent photos along the tour. However, we strongly recommend either a waterproof camera or GoPro if you wish to shoot activities like Snorkelling.

They are not dangerous, infact they are fun and safe activities.
Will the necessary equipment be provided?
Yes we will provide you with a snorkelling kit and fishing lines.
Can I go snorkelling if I wear glasses?
The best option is to wear soft contact lenses
Are there changing rooms?
No there are no changing rooms on board, so please make sure to carry towels and bedsheets to help you to change.
