Chapora River is one of the most beautiful rivers of North Goa. It flows west ward into the Arabian Sea, and divides the Talukas of Pernem and Bardez. Ideally located with the feel of the villages on the banks of the river, this river has a great scenic value. The banks of the river are decked up with greenery. We at Travel Adventures Goa present to you Houseboat Day Trip which is fun and of great sight-seeing value.

Let the trip begin

You will be picked up from your hotel from North Goa and taken to Siolim Jetty, from where you will need to board the Houseboat.  This Houseboat has 3 cabins and is a non-air-conditioned boat with an upper deck. You will only be permitted to use the washrooms on board as the cabins are utilised for the overnight trips. We will depart from the jetty at 1:30 pm. As we begin sailing in the beautiful waters of the Chapora River, we will go past the Chapora Fort, commonly known by many Indians as the ‘Dil Chahta Hai Fort’ after a famous movie that was filmed there. You will be able to get decent glimpses of the structure as you sail past it.

Local fishermen, in their boats doing their daily activities to earn a living is a sight not to be missed. Get a taste and feel of what traditional Goa is all about. As we move out into the seas, you’ll get a chance to go to the deserted beach in Morjim, which is untouched making this trip even more exclusive for you. You can enjoy yourself by swimming in the waters.

As we sail back onto the backwaters, you’ll catch a scene of the village set up in Goa. Sip your drink in one hand and try your luck at fishing with the other. Enjoy your drinks which can be purchased at the bar, go up to the upper deck and experience a great view. You’ll soon be served delicious Goan and Indian lunch on-board, making this dining experience truly memorable.

If the tide is low and it is your lucky day you will be fortunate to spot a few crocodiles. You will be served evening tea, which we are pretty sure will be an enjoyable moment of sipping tea while looking across the gorgeous river. The trip culminates with you being dropped back to the jetty at 4:30 pm after which you will be dropped back to the hotel in a vehicle.

Rates:

The rate for this trip is INR 2799 per person. A minimum of 4 pax are required to operate this trip. Children of age 5-10 years will be charged half rate.

Things To Carry:

You need to carry a camera, sunglasses, swimwear sunscreen lotion and change of clothes for the trip.
